The Body of Love
If love were a thing with a body and soul – the body of Love would be a vessel.
A ship secure from the eye of the storm
A respite to those who seek it
With cabins of peace for the stressed and distressed
And a wardroom for the lonely of heart
On Waters wide or voyage long
One needs a boat that’s hale and strong.
And as we know, from One above,
On seas of life
That boat is love.
For love can stay a raging sea
Protecting all who wish to be
Within her hold, there safe and free
From seas of strife
In one with Thee
The water is wide, I can’t cross over,
And neither have I wings to fly.
Give me a boat that will carry two
And both shall row,
My love and I.
On Waters wide or voyage long
One needs a boat that’s hale and strong.
And as we know, from One above,
On seas of life
That boat is
Love.
